Julian gave a harsh laugh, her blood red eyes twinkling viciously. "Hah! Hardly, young one, hardly..." She replied, then grinned at him. "McCauley does not like you, so I think she would almost be happy if I simply..."
Jules ran a white finger over her own slender throat.

Laughter sounded in Raymond's ears, and the dark-haired youth looked up form Payne, his expression a fixed snarl. "Lucifer...I hate you..."
The King himself appeared at Payne's otherside, grinning. "I know...but I suppose you know what I must do for your little...woman...to survive?"
((Dun worry...Lucy'll bring her back in a jiffy.))

Yukio sighed, ''You have no idea what is in my mind! You don't understand my ways of thinking..forced to see the worst of the future or to know what oothers think? It is written in a confusing path of life and I can only see what happens at the worst of times..like right now, if you were smart enough to think why I told you Payne was in danger, you surely would've had enough common sense to go outside and find out why I said that to keep in in a close range, but now she's dead....and you wouldn't have had the slightest idea until I told you now, I cannot say annything about the future until it is close to happening or has happened...it is done, she is dead and will be brought back shortly.'' He said, his eyes raging with a mixture of hate and saddness. He had hioed that things had gone differently but when he saw the path they all chose, she had died and was in the process of becoming a guidarian likethe others.

Julian simply laughed. "Oh-ho-ho...child, I arranged for this. Of course, McCauley was against it, but after a little coaxing..." She smiled wickedly, baring ivory teeth that rivaled newly-sharpened knives. "And, if you could indeed see this coming, then how is it you could not see my own involvement?"

Lucifer's smile echoed Julian's. "Well, I have work to do, Little Ray, so I suggest you be quiet."
The King reached past the young guardian and pressed his ice-cold fingers to Payne's brow, his smirk widening as black energy leaked from his fingers and through any orifices on Payne's body.

Yukio sighed and cringed, ''I told you...I cannot control what I see and know, why would you do such a thing?'' He asked looking into her eyes.

A strange dark energy flowed through Payne's dead veins of her pale corpse. Her soul still slightly lived, but her body had died, then she felt a bit strange..like she had another chance in life.

Julian smirked. "Because I am fond of strife and greif. Because I feed of young LaVerne's sadness and desperation and...simply to spite my host." The red-eyed guardiand replied, settling down in her chair with a cat-like grin.

Lucifer's palm began to sting, and so in a few seconds he realesed Payne. "I suggest you keep her fed and comfortable until she revives...another few hours or so." Then with the grin still on his face, the King vanished.

Yukio's eyes were wide and filled with disgust and pity for Julian, ''Why do such cruel things? She considers you a friend, Julian. A friend, and you betray one such as her? Her life was perfectly normal...do you even care for her at all? Or was that all an act.?'' He said, his voice on the edge of screaming at her for doing such a thing to Payne. He wanted to run up and fight her then and there, but he kept calm.

Payne took the smallest of breaths and she cringed, her teeth seething in pain. She had barely woken up from her death and she fell to the edge of consiousness, she still couldn't move her body and she incredibly tired, she just wanted to find a comfortable place to lay down and sleep. She half-way wondered about Raymond..her head felt like someone was hitting her with a large bat so she couldn't concentrate fully on her thoughts. One by one, her breaths came a bit stronger. Her eyes started to flutter, but it was a bit to much for her. She peeked into the world again, only seeing Raymond, then fell back onto the edge of the stairs, unconsious, thinking it was all a dream and she still lay at home in her bed, mourning over her family.
((Finally, is that any better? For coming back alive-ish...))

Raymond just sat there, wincing as a large lump formed in his throat from the same sadness and desperation Julian craved. He rubbed his pale forehead with a cold hand and sighed.
...
Julian gave a loud, raucous laugh. "Fool! You think I'm Julian? That soft-hearted fool couldn't kill a fly if it weren't for me urging her bloodlust! And you call yourself a scholar!" More laughter.

Payne kept opening her eyes slowly and looking up at Raymond, she couldn't say much at the moment so she layed there, her eyes filled with tears. She fell for a stupid trick and she wanted to say sorry to Raymond and tell him why she had dome it. She wanted to explain it all, but she as too tired. ''Ray...mond...I-I..'' She took a soft sigh then streams fell from her eyes, ''I'm sorry...I..'' She couldn't say anything more, she was just too tired. She turned and dug her face into Raymonds shoulder, crying softly...unable to sleep without the fear of death.

Yukio sat there, quietly. He didn't say anything for the longest to time only sitting and thinking. He tried to see the past and what had happened. ''I...I don't get it...it all fits...you were....no..wait..you..how could you?'' He opened his eyes and glared at Julian. Without any notice after that, he sprung to his feet and ran to the supposed Julian's spot. He held a knife to her neck, a bit of blood trickling from her throat. He had moved so quickly that no one could've been able to see his moves, he was special like that. ''Explain to me everything that you did, or this knife slips out of my hand and cuts your throat!'' He said, his eyes raging, his breath loud and his chest pumping air.

Julian once again laughed, her dainty hand shooting out and belting out a powerful blow to Yukio's chest. "Fool! Killing me will do no good, I'll just find another host! And, then, you'll have a poor, foolish, dead guardian on your hands. Who will Link believe when he finds you've killed his lover? He will not hesitate to take your life as well, I am certain." She hissed, in a voice so unlike Jules' it was unreal.

Raymond held her to his chest, as he had done before, and rested his chin on her head. "Shh, darling...it wasn't your fault. Lucifer's sly enough to trick even the greatest human minds...there is nothing to feel guilty over."

Yukio reflexed back and held a hnad over his chest. He graoned with a moment of pain then looked up, his breath caught short. ''Who....are you? Tell me..I don't care if anyone kills me, just tell me who you are and why you're here. There is a reason you are showing yourself now, just tell me and everything will be much easier.'' He said, his breath still short, catching in his dry throat.

Payne continued to cry, unable to stop shaking in his arms. ''I....can't...explain. Raymond....don't hate me.'' After she blurted out the last part the tears spread more, the thought of those words hurt her and made her face flushed. Her eyes half'squinted and her mouth stay shut, her biting hard on her lip so she could try to stop the tears, but it didn't work. She cried softly after a moment, her face still a bit red. ''I...can't take this Raymond....I'm sorry.'' She said and wrapped her arms tightly around his chest, her not wanting to move, she wasn't able to move anyway.

Raymond closed his eyes and began to rock Payne gently in his arms, as one would a frightened child. "Shh..." He whispered. "I do not blame you,and I will never hate you so long as I am living."

Julian smirked viocously(sp?). "My name is Atropos, and I hold the scissors that snip the lives of pathetic mortals like yourslef and McCauley away." She replied. "Such a job is hard as well as demeaniing, so I decided to have a little fun with you all."

Yukio sighed, ''Where is Julian? When did you switch with her? How long ago?'' He couldn't believe that he had missed it, skipping such thoughts in his mind made him curse loudly.

Payne sighed, a few more trickles of tears falling from her eyes, ''Th...thankyou, R-Raymond.'' She took in a deep crackled breath. She still shook slightly, and her body was still tired, but she hadn't said anything, someone would have to knock her out in order for her to be able to sleep at this point, she was afraid of almost everyone and feared torture from others, a noble death would've been great for her, but she knew that would no longer happen.

"Oh...well, you see, I get to come out whenever dear Jules is angry, so right about when you came into the picture. Mmm...such a temper she has. And, right now, she locked up right here," She tapped her lily-white cranium. "Screaming and thrashing against my delightful little mind barriers. Charming, hmm?"

Raymond pecked her on the forehead. "Shh, darling...I suggest you sleep....you will need your energy..." He whispered soothingly.

Yukio looked at the 'Julian', ''well, any way I can get you to go away?'' He said, completely serious, it was starting to anny him and he just wanted to get right to the point.

Payne bit her lip, ''..a-alright, but...will you leave once I'm asleep?'' Her expression clearly showed that she didn't want him to leave her sight, she was too tired to clearly say it though. ''I...want to explain....everything to you, when I...wake.'' She said, she no longer thought that this was all a dream, she just hoped it would get better soon.

Raymond answered by slipping his hands beneath her back and knees and hoisting the girl up, his dark hair falling in front of his silver eyes. "You have my word, Payne." he replied. "But I'd prefer it is you didn't sleep on the floor here....anywhere you'd like to go?"

Atropos thought for a moment. "Hmm...back in Hell they serve us the most atrocious food ever...so I would be very obliged to you if you fetched me something good to eat, mmm?" She replied, licking her lips.
