Lily breathed deeply, taking in all the glorious smells. She closed her eyes for a second, then opened them again. "Yeah. Otherwise I might sink the entire Mountain into the core." She said, smirking at the thought.

Karsten smirked. ''That would surely get you put to the stakes.'' He said chuckling. He actually felt kind of...okay, being this close to a human he wasnt drinking from.

Lily put one white finger in the air, still smiling. "That is, if the stakes were still there, and if you Vampires could catch me." She said, runing her other hand down the stem of a strange begonia-like plant.

Karsten sighed. ''Well, if the stakes werent there we could just push you down the Mountain.'' He said turning to look at a very large spider. ''Ba-Halen's spider...'' he said looking at the strange creature.

Lily tilted her head and looked at the spider, her green eyes curious. "Is it poisonus(sp? Grr...)?" She asked, her lips forming a small oval.

Karsten shrugged. ''We actually have yet to find out...No one has been stupid enough to tamper with them. They look to be on the deadly side however, dont they?'' He said still studying the hanging spider.

Lily glanced at him, and replied. "Ah...well, it does. But how would you know wheter or not a spider is poisonus(that word again...) without touching it?" SHe asked quietly, and, reached a slender hand out to the spider, who clacked it's pincers and scuttled onto her index finger.
"See? It hasn't bitten me yet?" Lily said, smiling down at the arachnid.

Karsten used a flower to push the large spider off of her finger. ''No, but considering we are miles away from the nearest human hospital, I wouldnt want you to risk it. Our methods of healing are simply chopping off whatever it is thats bothering you. Then we bandage you up and say your good as new. That is what happens when you live in a Mountain.'' He said brushing a trace of web from Lily's hand.

Lily fought blushing again, half from her own stupidity and half from the fact that he just said he didn't want a spider to bite and/or kill her. "So I see." The earth child said, watching the spider scuttle away. "Well, I doubt I'd let you chop me to bits, so I think I'll stick to my own brand of healing, should anything bad ever happen to me."

Karsten nodded. ''Hopefully you wont have to use any method of healing.'' He said as he began to walk again. He let go of her hand and put his hands at his sides. He shook his head. He couldnt believe he had just said those things to her. Then he had intentionaly toucher her hand, he would have smacked himself if she hadnt been next to him.

Lily smirked and winked at the retreating spider. Adeiu, little friend, and thank you for the short time. She thought at the spider, who, of course, didn't answer.
She walked after Karsten, she smile gone from her face but still in her eyes.

Karsten sighed and shut his eyes. He continued to walk on the path as if they where open. ''So, if I may ask, how did you come to be with the Victors?'' He asked keeping his eyes closed.

Lily winced and touched the black rose on her neck, glad that Karsten could not see her expression. "Well, Thea's father was recently murdered by one of your kind--don't ask about that b--man. She called all of those who were like her to help. I came with my sister Annie, and we defeated the vampire." She said simply, biting her lip.

Karsten;s eyes flew open. ''My kind..'' He said echoing her words. ''Well... I guess...thank-you for taking him off our hands...'' He said still shocked and confused.

Lily nodded silently, and wrapped her arms around herself as she hurried past Karsten, trying to hide the tears that had arisen as she remembered Annie's lifeless golden eyes.
