Guardians
Just a few facts on my made-up species…I will probably add more to this as my brain begins to solidify.
- All guardians gain black hair and curious silver eyes as they grow. One sign that a guardian is young and inexperienced is if there hair is not yet black or their eyes not silver.
- If at least one of a guardian's charges are alive by the end of their life, 10 years, then they are offered a place in heaven or the chance to return to earth as a normal human and live a normal life.
- They are virtually undead—most, if not all, guardians have committed suicide or been killed in an untimely manner and were saved from dying by Lucifer…otherwise known as the devil.
- Their eyes are delicate when it comes to strong light, and their ears to loud sounds, as their hearing and sight are equivalent, if not superior, to vampire's hearing/sight.
- They are assigned to a mortal to protect as soon as they become guardians. The guardians call these mortals their "charges".
- Guardians are impervious to bullets of any kind—they bounce right off their skin as if made of rubber. This is partly the reason why their skin is routinely cold, even in warm weather.
- All of these strange people have inhuman strength and swiftness, making them the perfect body guards.
- Charges are switched every 5 or so years, but this may also be changed if needed.
- All guardians are slaves to Lucifer, his heir Nicholas, and another person whom we all know but whom I will not speak of. They answer to these beings, which they call "The Three"
- GUARDIANS HAVE AN AVERSION TO IRON OF ANY GRADE OR QUALITY! When the metal is touched to their bare skin, said skin burns and can easily cause spread through the veins as infected blood and so kill the guardian slowly an painfully.
- Guardians cannot commit suicide--they heal from any wound they might intentionally give themselves. This goes for poison as well...but, instead of killing guardians, any poison besides demon blood act as medicines.
