1. Remain as active as possible. This is going to be a fairly active RPG hopefully, and if characters do not remain active it could all go downhill fairly quickly. So, the consequence to breaking this rule, is that if you are not active for one month, without reason, you will be deleted. This is mostly to encourage telling folks when you up and leave for a while, so that conversations don't fall in.
2. Adult content is allowed. The rating for this RPG is approximately 17+, though if you have the maturity level to deal with what this rating allows (sex, rape, murder, swearing, descriptive violence and gore, etc), you are welcome to join. However, please keep in mind that we don't need to go overboard on the adult RP instances. I would like to keep things tasteful. Restrain yourself to one adult occurence every two weeks, or perhaps once a month.
3. You can play as many characters as you can keep active. Self explanatory rule, really. If you find that you do create too many characters for you to keep active, feel free to IM me about it with a request to remove those you are unable to play.
4. Keep in character as much as possible. If you need to say something quick relating to your post or someone else's, that is permittable, but no discussions about how cute so-and-so is popping up in the middle of a conference. If you need to hop OOC for a moment, simply put "OOC:" before what you want to say, and "IC:" when you're ready to go back into your in character post. If you want to have a whole conversation with another player OOC, then that's what the OOC board is there for.
5. No advertising. No advertising of any kind on any of the boards whatsoever. This includes adding links in your signatures.
6. Post a Character Description. Post a character description in the appropriate section to be approved by one of the approving members of the site. Who are Mo Mo and Darky .
2.
7. If you need to post vignettes to detail happenings in your character’s life, either past or present, please do so under your character profile board in Character Descriptions. As these are generally one-sided, it is impossible for others to join in, and therefore are not technically Rps. So keep them to your profile, where people can read them if they need to.
8. Signatures. Since I seem to now be allowing images in signatures, please do not post any over 500 pixels wide by 200 pixels high. Anything larger may disrupt the layout of the forum, and slow down loading for those users not blessed with DSL or cable internet. Additionally, do not post more images than will exceed this limit. The overall size of your signature shouldn't be more than 500 x 200. Please scale your images accordingly.
9a. Multiple Characters. Please try not to create any more characters than you can keep active. If you create multiple characters before you are registered, you will be registered as the first character you posted {mortal, Nephim, Independent, etc}. If you create a new character, you will remain registered as your older character, unless you request the change.
9b. Multiple Accounts. Please do not register with more than one account. You do not need to make a new account for each character.
Role-Playing Rules
1. Avoid cliché. That is, make a character that is new and interesting. Also, in this RP I require that you make characters that are unique to you, and not pulled from a book. (eg. No Lestat, no Louis, no Dracula.)
2. Be descriptive. Avoid one-liners as though your life depended on it.
3.
3. Don't be overly descriptive. No one wants to read a five-post description of a dress, down to the last seam.
4. Use clear, precise language, and always be sure of the meaning of a word or synonym before using it. Don’t thesaurus-thump, but don’t be afraid to use one, either. (eg. 'Orbs' are not eyes. 'Orbacle' is not a word.)
5. Do not powerplay, godmode, be a twinkie, etc. If there is one thing that annoys me, and many others, to the point of breaking into insane rants of frustration, it's god-moding. Play your character and your character only, please. I'll be liable to ban you for a few weeks for the first offence, and ban you entirely if it's done again.
6. Keep an eye on spelling and grammar. This sort of goes with the descriptive post rule; use punctuation where it is required, and always check for typos before you post. And, for the love of chocolate, please no chat-speak.
7. Your characters can die. For each coven, weaknesses are listed for a purpose. Should any of the covens come to fight each other, or should their be a mortal uprising against the covens, vampires will be killed in the fighting. Mortals, of course, can also die.
8. Do not turn a mortal without their consent. By this, I of course mean the consent of that particular character's player. You may only change a mortal character into a vampire if the mortal's player has either asked you to, or you have been given permission.
9. NPCs are allowed for feeding purposes. I highly doubt that we will have enough PC mortals to allow every vampire their own personal meal ticket, so feel free to use NPC mortals, or even animals to feed from. Those who may drink dead blood can also steal packets from blood clinics to keep in storage for when they require nourishment.
