Thea sighed inwardly--he was asking her to do the very thing her father had told her not to do. Coming into a stranger's house willingly was one of the top no-no's in city safety. Put he seems so nice... Her heart said wistfully.

Dimitri stepped closer. ''Do I look like someone who would want to do that?" He said giving her a smile. His smile hid his fear however. If he had to, he would hypnotize her to come. He liked the girl enough to be his first blooding. Hopefully she would agree to it, maybe she could go on as a half Vampire for a while, that would be safest.

He sighed a deep sigh. ''I give you my word I wont harm you.I know that it sounds very stupid that I do that because if I intended on hurting you, I could say the same thing, but you just have to trust me. '' He patted his pockets. ''I dont have a...what are they called...''He thought hard biting his lip. ''Some type of portable phone, I dont have one, but if it makes you feel better, call your father.''He said. Dear Darren Shan, call her father?! There is no way she is going to come now. he almost smacked his head but covered by pushing a piece of hair out of his eyes and behind his ear.
(( Heh, I love the glowing letters. Oh Darren Shan is a Vampire Prince from a book. Lol Dimitri is very old, O.o ))

Thea laughed softly."That's okay...I think I saw a pay phone next to that old redwood tree, by the entrance. Do you have any quarters? I'm afraid I'm broke." She pointed at the ring of ancient trees that surrounded the wrought iron gates of the park--which were closed. |

Dimitri held up a finger. ''Let me see..''He dug around in his pockets then into his cape. He held up a black leather wallet. ''Here you are Dea'" He said smiling and handing the wallet to her.

Thea took the wallet, careful not to touch his hand."Thanks,"She said, opening it."I think two should do." She removed two silver quarters from the wallet and handed it back to him. Then Thea walked over to the chrome-plated pay pkone, her boots barely making a whisper of sound, even on the brittle,colorful fallen leaves. She inserted the two coins, pulling the phones from it cradle and holding to her ear while trying not to think about who many germs there were on it. She dialed her father's work number--he always worked over-night on Saturdays such as this.
Thea waited for her father to answer, to hear his gruff voice say,"Hello? What is it,Thea?"
And waited. And waited, until his voicemail said,"I'm not at my desk at the moment...you know the drill."
Thea sighed."Hey, Dad, It's me, Thea. I met some...uh...friends, and we're going to go get some coffee--I expect to be home in a couple hours."She said boredly, then replaced the phone pack in it's holster and wiping her hands off one another anti-bacterial wipe.

Dimitri smiled and put his wallet back into his cape. He watched with interest as Thea walked to the phone. He could her perfectly what she had said. He smiled wider. Walking over to her he stood behind her. ''Guess you will be coming then?"

Thea nodded."Yes. I doubt Lucas would notice if I didn't come home for weeks." She raised an eyebrow at Dimitri's expression."You look like a cat who's got the cream, do youu know? Chesire Cat, like. So, where is your apartment by the way?" Thea naturally assumed he lived in an apartment--he hardly looked older than 20, and college-age boys rarely had enough to feed themselves.

Thea took his hand, smiling as well."Oh, I wouldn't say it was bad...I'm rather fond of cats. You live in a mansion? How is that possible? You're hardly older than I am!" She looked up at him--Thea was tall for a girl, but he was taller--her hazel eyes incredulous.

He laughed. ''I have my ways, dont worry, I dont go out and rob poor people of the little money they may have. I am just a big saver." He gave a slight shrug. "Speaking of age Dea', How old are you?" He said pulling her a bit closer and begining to walk.
