A young man sat upside down on the bench, his long legs dangling in the air. His nose was in a book, and he paid no attention to the scant number of people that passed by him. The yellow light from the park lamps illuminated his ebony hair, which was black as the night around him, making it fairly sparkle. His dark brows were furrowed, his lips partly open. "Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary..." His voice was like satin, and the trees about him seemed to sigh in pleasure upon hearing it. The teenager paused, as if waiting for something, then began again. "While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,as of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.'Tis some visitor,' I muttered, 'tapping at my chamber door--Only this, and nothing more.' "

((YAY! MY lovely Edgar....*sighs* I <3 him..lol))
A rather sad looking woman stood near a tree listening to the man read from the novel. Her back was up against one of the many trees, and her red hair was tied back behind her.

((Aye, so do I...we are doing a project on his work in LA... ;D )) Oblivious to the woman, he kept reading, his voice making the ferns bend towards him, as if to hear him better. "Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December, and each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor. Eagerly I wished the morrow;- vainly I had sought to borrow From my books surcease of sorrow- sorrow for the lost Lenore--For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore--Nameless here for evermore." He said. The blood began to rush to his head, but the teenager did not sit up, so wrapped in the words he was reading was he.

The boy turned a page, his expression vaguely mystified. And the silken sad uncertain rustling of each purple curtain Thrilled me- filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before; So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating, 'Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door--Some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door;- This it is, and nothing more.'" He murmered, and sat up slightly. He might have seem the girl, had he been looking up, but the young man had eyes only for the book.

The red head sat down quietlly on the bench, not saying anything for a moment. ''Poe is a very great poet and writer youve chosen..''She said softly.

The boy nearly dropped the book, but caught it just before it hit the ground. "Oh, I...thank you." His real voice was just as lovely as his reading was, and his strange eyes, one brown and one blue, looked warily at the girl. "Who are you?"

The boy closed the book and looked back at Nicky calmly. "I'm Thomas Tullio, and your service." He said, nodding his head graciously.

Thomas smiled ruefully. "Oh, well, it only should be...I mean, Thank you. I didn't really mean for anyone to hear me, though." He said, hiding his gulp by placing a hand on his slightly scarred neck.

Thomas tilted his dark-haired head to the side. "You were not bothering me, Miss...and it was a pleasure to meet you as well." He replied, running a hand through his black tresses.

Thomas watched her go, a quizzical expression on his face. When she was out of eyeshot, the boy clicked his tounge. A black raven glided from a hidden tree branch above him and alighted on his shoulder. "Nevermore..." It croaked, looking at Tom with black, black eyes.
